AMANST Inc. is looking for Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist for a contract opportunity with Ontario Government.

 

Estimated Business Days: 87 days

 

Must Haves:

  • 8+ years experience in Manual Testing and QA analysis
  • Experience developing Test Cases/Scripts and data requirements, develop test scenarios, test cases for manual testing
  • Demonstrated experience conducting iterative testing in Salesforces

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute unit, integration and end user acceptance testing for Salesforce Public Sector Foundation  
  • Responsible to prepare and communicate UAT plans including test data, scripts and cases to Ministry SME’s by coaching, demonstrating and conducting joint testing / mock-up sessions
  • Provides advice on the testing strategy, test plans, the selection of testing tools, and the identification of resources required for testing
  • Plans and organizes testing efforts for large systems in Graphical User Interface (GUI) and non-Graphical User Interface (GUI) environments, including the execution of systems integration tests, specialized tests, and user acceptance testing (e.g., stress tests)
  • The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for the development of test plans, test scripts and test cases and executing these against the various components. The tester will work with the testing lead and IT lead of each project as well as the project team members in the analysis, design, development, implementation and ongoing support of the required systems

 

General Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in planning, organizing and implementing testing efforts at the specified experience level
  • Knowledge of structured methodologies for the development, design, implementation and maintenance of applications
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools and data query tools to aid in the development of test cases
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of automated test tools and version control systems on one or more platforms
  • Demonstrated experience executing functional tests, non-functional tests and systems level integration tests
  • Demonstrated experience supporting user acceptance testing and participating in UAT activities
  • Demonstrated experience with quality assurance principles, practices, tools and structured methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience creating testing strategy documentation, test plans, test cases and test data for various types and phases of testing, including technical and business functional validation
  • Demonstrated experience in quality assurance and testing, including unit testing, integration testing, load testing, performance testing, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience in all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience in at least one programming language
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of information retrieval packages
  • Knowledge and understanding of testing methods in an object-oriented environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards
  • Demonstrated experience planning and organizing testing efforts for both large and small systems
  • Demonstrated experience coding automated test scripts to produce sets of automated test cases
  • Demonstrated experience testing Commercial Off-the Shelf Applications (COTS)

 

Must Have

  • Demonstrated experience with Salesforce, DevOps, Microsoft tools including Visio and Project and Miro boards
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the Ontario Digital Service Standard, Ontario Service Design Playbook and the Digital First Assessment product delivery approach (Pre-Discovery, Discovery, Alpha, Beta, Live)
  • Knowledge and understanding of digital product development, implementation and management
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of test scripts and user stories
  • Demonstrated experience testing prototypes and conducting usability testing
  • Demonstrated experience conducting iterative analysis and testing
  • Knowledge of user-centered design
  • Demonstrated experience conducting UAT, AODA and vulnerability testing
  • Ability to lead and coordinate testing team

 

Knowledge Transfer Requirements:

  • Knowledge transfer is expected to occur through the duration of the assignment through regular meetings, touchpoints, and working sessions with LRC staff
  • All design, development and artefacts, including all relevant and complete documents must be transferred to the ministry in the designated repositories provided
  • Dedicated knowledge transfer sessions will be scheduled during the close-out phase of the project to ensure completeness of knowledge transfer and all documentation is shared and allow LRC staff to ask clarification and/or follow up questions.

Manual Testing Skills/Experience - 45 points

  • 8+ years experience in QA analysis
  • Experience developing Test Cases/Scripts and data requirements, develop test scenarios, test cases for manual testing
  • Demonstrated experience conducting iterative testing in Salesforces
  • Experience developing technical testing strategies/plans
  • Experience executing testing activities for a number of types of testing such as:
    • Integrations testing
    • Unit testing
    • Regression testing
    • Functional testing
    • Accessibility testing
    • Non-functional testing
    • Vulnerability testing
  • Demonstrated experience in developing test plans, test scripts and test data; documenting software defects and tracking resolutions
  • Demonstrated experience with User Acceptance testing and leading initial UAT sessions
  • Hands-on skills with Salesforce UI and backend testing

 

Soft Skills - 20 points

  • Experience reporting progress on deliverables to team, project leads and management, including proactively raising risks/issues with migrations
  • Demonstrated experience working with clients and technical teams to ensure effective resolution of defects and management of change request are complete

 

Agile Experience - 20 points

  • Experience with Agile scrum methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience with agile sprint management, bug tracking and testing life cycle management using Azure DevOps
  • Thorough understanding of SDLC, specifically QA processes in agile development environments

 

Testing - 10 points

  • Demonstrated experience conducting AODA and vulnerability testing using standard testing tools (e.g. JAWS, NVDA)
  • Demonstrated experience conducting functional and UAT testing in Salesforce

 

Public Sector Experience - 5 points

  • Previous experience working in Government or Public Sector organizations
