Job Description :

AMANST Inc. is looking for Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist for a contract opportunity with Ontario Government.

 

Estimated Business Days: 50 days

 

Must Have:

  • Experience developing test cases/scripts as well as test data, ensuring all of the Business requirements are met by creating a traceability matrix.
  • Experience executing testing activities for Functional and Non-Functional Testing, Regression Testing, Integration Testing, Accessibility and Vulnerability Testing, leading UAT Testing
  • Leading Defect Management sessions with Business Analyst, Technical teams and clients
  • Testing in Agile environment
  • Excellent communication skills

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with product managers, product owners, and technical team to develop test strategies and test plans
  • Strong understanding of manual testing practices to support developing manual test scripts, test cases and/or test scenarios
  • Assist with planning and creating test data as it relates to each test phase
  • Executes quality assurance and testing activities for various types of testing such as integration testing, functional testing, regression testing, unit testing, load testing, performance testing and accessibility testing
  • Plans and organizes testing efforts in both front-end and back-end application components/environments 
  • Communicate test results regularly through reports that summarize test completion and defects found
  • Help with the implementation of the project technical testing strategy and methodology. This includes testing of integration points and interfaces and non-functional requirements (e.g. fail-over, component response times, data integrity, security)
  • Evaluate test results against acceptance criteria to determine successful completion of the sprint increment
  • Defines and measures acceptance criteria for test cases
  • Record all defects/issues in the Cluster’s defect reporting tool (Microsoft Azure DevOps), including detailed descriptions, screenshots, and steps to re-produce
  • Participate in elicitation and business requirement workshop sessions, sprint reviews and/or walkthrough meetings
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the agile / iterative solution development lifecycle
  • Conducts post-release / post-implementation testing
  • Supports clients with user acceptance testing (UAT) activities
  • Creates traceability matrix to ensure testing outcomes align with business requirements
  • Coordinate and facilitate regular defect review meetings with Business Analysis’ and Business stakeholders
  • Provide testing and defect status updates in daily scrum stand-ups, team meetings as required
  • Provide weekly report confirming status of assigned tasks

 

Knowledge Transfer Requirements

Knowledge transfer is expected to occur throughout the duration of the assignment through regular meetings, touchpoints, and working sessions with LRC staff

  • All design, development, artefacts, and source code, including all relevant and complete documents must be transferred to the ministry in the designated repositories provided
  • Dedicated knowledge transfer sessions will be scheduled to ensure completeness of knowledge transfer and all documentation is shared, and allow LRC staff to ask clarification and/or follow up questions

 

Experience and Skill Set Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience in the use of test tools and methodologies (Waterfall/Agile/Iterative)  
  • Knowledge and experience in all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle 
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; organizational, creativity and perseverance skills, verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. 
  • Product cycle (functional & non-functional) testing experience 
  • Test case & Test Scenario design and review experience (from business requirements) 
  • Test case development experience 
  • Experience in defect tracking 
  • Test scenarios (use-cases) design and review 
  • Experience in writing manual/automated test scripts 
  • Experience in the use of information retrieval packages
  • Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards
  • Experience testing Commercial Off-the Shelf Applications (COTS) as well as Custom developed applications developed in Java, Apex
  • Experience in DevOPs methodology is an asset

 

Evaluation Criteria:

 

Manual Testing Skills/Experience - 45%

  • 8+ years experience developing Test Cases/Scripts and Data Requirements, develop test scenarios, test cases for manual testing
  • 8+ years experience develop test cases/scripts as well as test data, ensuring all of the Business requirements are met by creating a traceability matrix.
  • 8+ years experience developing technical testing strategies / plans
  • 8+ years experience testing non-functional requirements (e.g. fail-over, component response times, data integrity, security)
  • 8+ years experience executing testing activities for a number of types of testing such as:
    • Integration testing
    • Unit testing
    • Regression testing
    • Functional testing
    • Accessibility testing
    • Non-functional testing
  • Demonstrated experience in developing test plans, test scripts and test data; documenting software defects and tracking resolutions.
  • Experience with User Acceptance Testing and leading initial UAT sessions

 

Soft Skills - 20%

  • Excellent meeting facilitation skills to gather requirements

  • Demonstrated experience working with clients and technical teams to ensure effective resolution of defects and management of change requests are complete 
  • Experience with User Acceptance Testing and leading initial UAT sessions

 

Agile experience -20%

  • Experience with Agile Scrum methodologies
  • Demonstrated Experience with Agile Sprint Management and Bug tracking and testing life cycle management using such as Azure DevOps
  • Thorough understanding of SDLC, specifically QA processes in agile development environments

 

AODA and Vulnerability testing-10%

  • Hands on skills with AODA testing tools, e.g. JAWS, NVDA.
  • Hands on use of Vulnerability Testing tools 

 

Public Sector Experience – 5%

  • Experience in testing enterprise level systems and exposure to ministry QA processes and standards within OPS
  • Previous experience working in Government or Public Sector organizations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Public Sector applications, databases and systems while testing
  • Experience working in accordance with policies and procedures of the Ontario Public Service
  • Working knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)
